With sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing of Carol Ann Rea, devoted mother, grandmother, and friend.
She passed peacefully at home on December 19, 2024, at the age of 86. Carol was born in Springfield, Missouri, on July 29, 1938. She was the youngest of nine children born to father, Henry Wilbert Tuter, and mother, Anna Jesse (Harrington) Tuter.
Carol married the love of her life, Charles Linn Rea. They shared a wonderful and satisfying life together, producing two children, Lynn Ann and David.
For most of her life Carol was a homemaker. She took pride in keeping her home and taking care of her family. She was a very kind and giving person. Carol was always concerned about everyone’s happiness and forever making friends with all whom she met.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; her husband, Charlie Rea; and her son, David Rea.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Ann Pruiett (Jeff), grandchildren, Chelsy McCall (AJ), Derek Rea (Mykayla), and Brian Rea; great-grandchildren, Casey McCall, Cooper McCall, and Claire Rea; and her daughter-in-law, Grace Rea.
A very special thanks to Teresa Yoho for all the love and kindness bestowed on Carol as her caregiver.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Carol’s life on Thursday, December 26, 2024, with a visitation from 1:00-2:00 pm and a graveside service to follow beginning at 2:00 pm at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield.
