Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Victor Baptist Church, Branson, MO with Rev. Kenny Robinette officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Slagle Cemetery, Bolivar, MO. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Greenlawn Funeral Home Branson. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home, Branson, MO.
Charles E. Branson, age 81, of Branson, MO, passed away Friday, July 2, 2010 at Select Specialty Hospital in Springfield, MO after a long illness. He was born on October 25, 1928, in Hughesville, MO, to Sidney and Bertha (Roark) Branson. He was a former member of Memorial Baptist Church and served as a Deacon there for 25 years in Jefferson City, MO and is currently a member of the Victor Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. United States Army during the Korean War. Charles Worked for Kroger Grocery for 25 years in Jefferson City, MO and 12 years at Mountain Country Grocery in Lakeview, MO. Retiring in 1990.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Bertha (Roark) Branson. Three brothers, Clayton Branson, Clifford Branson and James Branson. Two Half-sisters, Vaneda Branson and Ona Branson. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie J. Branson of Branson, MO. Son, Larry R. Branson and wife Pat of Wardsville, MO daughter Pamela J. Carmichael and husband Bob of Topeka, KS, step-daughters, Debbie D. Harmon of Ridgedale, MO and Pam S. Harmon of Branson, MO. Two grandsons, Derek and Jason Carmichael, two granddaughters, Stefani Schweikert and Amy Burkholder and 2 great,granddaughters, Brooke and Madisen Schweikert. A brother, Sidney E. Branson and wife Beverly of St. Charles, MO, and three sisters, Freda M. Bryan of Warrenton, MO JoAnn Wolfe and husband Don of St. Charles, MO and Reatha Siegler and husband Duane of Belle, MO.
