Charles “Red” Emerson McClure 94, Springfield, MO. passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 after a short illness. “Red” as he known by all his friends, was born on October 9, 1923 in Marionville, Mo. to Charles Emerson and Jewell Opal (Holder) McClure. He was a retired inspector for the Caterpillar Company, a U.S. Navy W.W.II veteran, and a member of the Southside Baptist Church.
“Red” was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Charity McClure, a daughter, Melissa McClure, and two sisters: Margie Lathrop and Willena Jackson. Survivors include: a son: Nick McClure, and his wife Sharon, two daughters: Brenda McClure, and Cindy Williams and her husband Larry, two grandsons: Shawn McClure and his wife Jennifer, and Keith Williams, two grand-daughters: Katie Massey and her husband John, and Jamie Williams, seven great- grandchildren, a brother: Johnny McClure and his wife Joyce, and one daughter-in-law, Lisa McClure.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with the Rev. Bud Everett officiating. Burial will follow, in Marionville, Mo. IOOF cemetery. No visitation is planned.
