Charles H. Heldenbrand 94, Ozark, MO. passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023. in his home, after a long illness. He was born on Tuesday, February 12, 1929, in Hamilton, MO. to Allen and Fleta (Pierce) Heldenbrand. He was a retired United States Air-Force veteran, serving his country for 20 years, serving from 1948 to 1968. He was a member of the Cassiday Methodist Church. On October 28, 1951, he was united in marriage to Lois “Clariday” Heldenbrand. He loved reading, westerns, and water skiing.
Charles was a life member of the VFW, and he was the Treasurer of the Christian County Library, for 18 years. While he was in the military, he was the winner of the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Occupation Medal in Germany.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Heldenbrand, his parents: Allen and Fleta (Smith) Heldenbrand his brothers: Clyde and Larry Heldenbrand, and his grand-daughter: Wendy Heldenbrand. He is survived by his two sons and their wives: Charles and Willadean Heldenbrand and Steve and Pam Heldenbrand, three grandchildren: Danielle Brigman, Steven A. Heldenbrand, and Franki Heldenbrand, numerous great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law: Shirley Heldenbrand, along with numerous nieces and nephews, and hundreds of foster children. The family wishes to thank Jennifer Stevens with Compassus for being there when we needed her most, along with Marty Wilson, Annette Parks and Linda Mayberry.
Memorial services will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Ozark, MO. V.F.W. Burial with Military Honors will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
