Charles “Chuck” Lynn Kroeger, age 70, of Springfield, MO was born August 11, 1951, to J.B. and Frances Kroeger of Palmyra, MO. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 18, 2021, after a lengthy battle with ALS. Chuck graduated from Palmyra High School in 1969. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1973 from College of the Ozarks. Following graduation he moved to Springfield, MO where he was employed by the Department of Natural Resources as an environmental specialist for 30 years. After retirement from DNR he was employed at MSU, Forrester Group, AquaTerra, and Geo Engineering. It was in Springfield where Chuck met the love of his life, Julie Flood. They were married on February 24, 1979. They are members of Southgate Baptist Church. Chuck was preceded in death by his father, J.B. Kroeger, and father-in-law, Clyde Flood.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Julie, 2 children, Brenna Campbell (Jeff), Josh Kroeger (Dee) both of Springfield, grandchildren, Nathan Mathews, Hayden Hannaford, and Kaia Kroeger. Chuck is also survived by his mother Frances Kroeger Sutton (Don) Palmayra, three sisters, Cynthia Sieloff (Steve) St Louis, Kay Thies (John) Lutzen, MN, Kerry Pancoast (Wayne) Topeka, KS, mother-in-law, Eloise Flood, sister-in-law, Jennifer Deulen (Steve) Springfield, brother-in-law, Brent Flood (Naeann) Columbia, MO.
Chuck was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, craftsman, and blood donor, but his most cherished time was spent with his family, and his heart was filled with joy when his grandchildren called him “Poppie”.
A memorial/celebration of life will be held at Greenlawn South,441 W Battlefield, Springfield, MO 1:00, December 4, 2021.
