It is with both sadness and gratitude that we announce the passing of Charles Leroy Ball, who left this world on August 17, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on April 12, 1943, in the small town of Humansville, Missouri, to Charles Elmer and Lois Maxine (Ludwick) Ball, Charles lived a life full of purpose, dedication, and love.
Charles was a proud foreman in the automobile manufacturing industry for General Motors, where his hard work and commitment inspired many of his colleagues. His leadership and expertise will be fondly remembered by all who have had the pleasure of working with him. He was a member of the Heartland Cruisers, the Heart of The Ozarks Model-T club of America, and the Southwest Missouri Model-A car clubs.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Shirley Ball; a daughter Angela Ciston; a grandson John Ciston; and two brothers: Dale and Terry Ball.
Charles is survived by his daughter Tammy Sanders (Curtis) of Blue Springs, MO; four grandchildren: Jessica Howrey (Jim) of Bolivar, MO, Taylor Cox (Tyler) of Blue Springs, MO, Michael Hicks (Grace) of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Jakob Sanders (Alexis) of Platte City, MO; six great grandchildren: Kayelyn, Vaeda, Jaxon, Faith, Jon, and Elowyn; two sisters: Judy Holman of Willard, MO, and Carolyn Ball of Republic, MO; a sister in-law Carrol Ball of Kansas City, MO; a step-daughter Teresa McGuire (Randy) of Brighton, MO; as well as many other relatives and friends.
As a loving father, Charles cherished his daughter, Tammy Sanders, who carries forward his legacy of kindness and strength. Family was everything to him, and he instilled values of resilience and compassion in his loved ones.
In celebration of Charles’s life, a funeral service will be held at Pitts Chapel on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Prior to the service, family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation beginning at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Following the service, Charles will be laid to rest in a burial ceremony at Crestview Memorial Gardens State Hwy 32 in Bolivar, MO, where his memory will continue to shine brightly.
