Charlotte Jean Harrell, 68, died from complications due to Alzheimer’s on October 25, 2018, in Springfield, Missouri. She was born on October 26, 1949, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to Jean and John Garren II. In 1972, she married Don Harrell, and they were married 46 years. Together they raised their son, Seth. Charlotte worked as a registered nurse for until diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2011. She was known for her compassion, leadership, love for music and ice cream, and her expression of joy through her “happy feet” dance. Charlotte is survived by her husband Don, their son Seth, and his wife Nicole, all from Springfield, Missouri. She is also survived by her siblings and their families: Joanne and David Banks and family of Evanston, Illinois; Elizabeth Garren, Bruce Drake and family of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Malcolm and Mary Garren and family of Black Forest, Colorado; Robert and Janet Garren and family of Kenosha, Wisconsin; and Michael and Patti Garren and family of Madison, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Garren III, her nephew, John Garren IV, as well as her parents. An informal celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 2, from 5:30-8:30 pm at Grey Rocks Event Center at 505 E. Trafficway in Springfield. There will be no formal presentation, but anyone who loved Charlotte and her family is invited to come and share memories over light fare and libations; visitors can come and go as they please.
