ROGERSVILLE – Charlotte Marie Strain, at age 96, left for Heaven on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. She went to meet Jesus, face to face. She was instantly healed by her lord and savior, of her ailments which stole the last couple of years of her life. She was born on February, 9, 1925, in Garfield, Kansas to Milton Kennard Blose and Edna May (Hall) Blose. She was raised by her mother, through the great depression, on a small farm,, along with her 6 siblings. She met the lover of her life, Lehman Edward Strain, through her sister Helen, at a a local barn dance she and her sister had walked eleven miles to attend. Charlotte was very independent and insisted on remaining a ingle women until Lehman returned from WWII; but finally agreed to marry him on June 29, 1943, at 11:45pm, the night before he was deployed to serve in the US Army.
They were blessed with three daughters, Sandra L. Matson, Jolene M. Anderson, and Shirley M. Caringer, and one son Lehman E. Strain Jr., in Larned, KS. They moved to Petaluma, CA in 1956 and raised their children there. They moved to a large farm in Seymour, MO in 1972, where she farmed for years, believing in naturally grown or raised products were best for a long healthy life. Her and Lehman purchased and operated together, two businesses; The Dairy Princess and the Conoco gas station. Throughout her life, Charlotte worked with dedication in a variety of occupations finally retiring from the Logan-Rogersville School District at age 85. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her six siblings, her two son-in-laws, and her only son. Surviving are three daughters, nine grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.
She will always be remembered for her love of cooking; she was the best cook ever. Her hobbies of amazing gardening, and creative sewing and crocheting will live on forever, enjoyed by family and friends. Charlotte was best known for being a great pray warrior, all through her struggles with health, she continued praying for others and out country. She will be truly missed by all the loves she touched throughout her life.
No services are planned. The burial will be located at the Larned cemetery.
