Chester Arthur Knight Jr. 85, Fair Grove, MO. passed away on May 30, 2023, in his home. He was born on November 25, 1937, to Chester A. Knight Sr. and Laura Dora (Searguine) Knight. He was a Operating Engineer for a Road Construction Company, retiring in 2000 in Construction. He was a member of the Fair Grove First Baptist Church. On June 16, 1963, he was married to Sylvia Darlene “Adkison” Knight, in Houston, MO.
Chester was preceded in death by both of his parents, Chester Knight Sr. and Laura D. Knight Nissen, three sisters: Sue Evans of Jefferson City, MO, Shirley Jenson of Jefferson City, MO. and Barbara Barber of Lawrence, KS. One daughter, Darla White, of Rogersville, MO. and one grandson, Nathan Archibald. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Darlene Knight, His children and their spouses: LaDonna Fain (Mike Fain), Chester Knight III (Colleen), Melissa Archibald (Mike Archibald) and Sarah Beresky (Thomas Beresky), eleven grandchildren and their spouses: Brad Fain and Zach Fain,(Cait Fain), Chester Knight IV, Bianca Cribbs (Jesse Cribbs), Dominique Long ( Dalton Long), Christopher Knight, Lucas Archibald, Vivienne Archibald, Abram Archibald and Elizabeth Beresky, and six great-grandchildren: Eliana Cribbs, Elijah Cribbs, Chloe Long, Annabelle Long, Nevaeh Long, and William Knight, one step-brother: Ray Nissen, along with several nieces and nephews.
Chester was loved and respected by so many people , not just family. He opened his door to anyone, even strangers at times, to help them with anything. Chester was stubborn and a hard nose at times, but he always had a big heart.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. before services on Saturday at the funeral home.
