With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Christie Lee Bramell, a beloved daughter, mother, and cherished friend, who left us on November 24, 2024, at the age of 42. Christie was born on May 22, 1982, in Springfield, MO, to her loving parents, Michael Deam and Jayne Greaves. She spent her formative years in Battlefield, MO, and graduated from Kickapoo High School in 2000.
A devoted homemaker, Christie found great joy in nurturing her two wonderful children, Emma Aliese Bramell and Hudson Scott Bramell. Her commitment to family shone brightly as she dedicated her time to creating a warm and loving home for them. Rather it was taking one of her long naps which she loved, to working in her garden or hosting gatherings full of laughter Christie embraced life with an infectious enthusiasm. Her warmth and spirit were captured in one of her classic sayings, “It’s ma’ birthday!”—a testament to her zest for life and love for celebrating every moment.
Christie cherished the summers spent in Vermont as a child and lovingly ensured her kids experienced those same joyful visits, weaving the fabric of family tradition into their lives. Her laughter and kindness brought happiness to everyone she encountered, leaving a trail of beautiful memories that will be held dear by all who knew her.
Christie is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Jayne D. Deam; her grandparents, Ester and Mahlon Greaves; her great-grandparents, Amo and Jessie Bryant; uncle Steve Greaves; aunt Carol Paine; aunt Gai Deuso; uncle Norman Deuso; Thelma G. Bonneau; Harold (Bud) Deam; and cousin Thomas Paine.
She is survived by her loving father, Mike Deam and his wife Susan; her stepfather, Hyle; the father of her children, Scott Bramell; her precious children, Emma and Hudson; Uncle Tim Deam and his wife Vicky; Aunt Kelley Oseguera; Aunt Linda Greaves; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends.
Funeral services will be held in Christie’s honor on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and share in the love she so freely gave. The service will begin at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation following at 3:00 p.m.
As we come together to remember Christie, let us do so with the fond memories of her laughter, her dedication to her family, and the unwavering joy she brought to our lives. She will forever remain in our hearts.
