Clarence E. McElwain, age 72, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014 in Cox South Medical Center. He was born February 8, 1942 in Conway, MO the son of Carl and Elizabeth (Burk) McElwain.
Clarence retired from Zenith where he had many dear friends. He loved fast cars, all kinds of music, he was an avid collector of everything unique especially rare and beautiful coins. He enjoyed horse races, camping, deer hunting, going to the lake, going to auctions and spending time with family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years Lonna Sue (White) McElwain, his three loving daughters; DeAnn Reynolds and her husband John, Lydia Cole and her husband Kraig and Amanda Simpson and her husband Craig, grandpa to; Justice and Shelby. He also had many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Frank, Fred, Sam, and Lee and four sisters; MaryEllen, Dora, Alice, and Dorothy.
Clarence was kind hearted, loving and a devoted family man. He was loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral service will be Friday at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Clarence was loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
