Clarence H. Presley, age 93, of Springfield, was born May 20, 1917, in Springfield, Mo., and passed away August 19, 2010, in St. Johns Hospital.
Clarence and his wife Ruby lived in Denver, Colo., for 15 years prior to the start of World War II. Clarence was very loved by his family members. Clarence was known for telling funny stories, laughing a lot and never criticizing others.
Clarence served in the Air Corps during World War II, and served in the South Pacific and India. He worked for Harry Cooper Supply Co., and retired in 1977, after 25 years of service. He was a member of Orchard Crest Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and a Sunday school teacher. Clarence was very active in the Bldg. committee when the church was constructed in 1969.
He was preceded in death by wife, Ruby Schlosser Presley (February, 1982).
He is survived by wife, Evelyn Presley, of the home; children, Rick and wife Donna Presley, of Surfside Beach, S.C., Glen and Carol Roper, Rob and Kathy Evans, and Sandy Weter, all of Springfield, Mo. grandchildren, Allison Presley and Alexis Presley Roth, both of metropolitan Kansas City, Jennifer Blakey, Nick and Melissa Arnold, Sam and Stacey Parris, Jamie and Heidi Weter; and great-grandchildren, Ashtyn Blakey, Emily Arnold, and Luca Parris.
Funeral services will be held in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at 1 p.m.
