Cleatus E. Lowther, 84, of Springfield, Mo, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011, at his home. He was born October 28, 1926, in Sheridan, WY, to Clifford and Temperest (Ragan) Lowther. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #71, Tulsa, Scottish Rite, Joplin, Abou Ben Adhem Shrine and Elks Lodge #409. He was a member of North Nixa Baptist Church. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired in 1985, from Burlington Northern Railroad as a clerk and Cashier.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter, Vicki Lowther and 1 brother, Glenn Lowther.
He is survived by his wife, Maylee S. Lowther, Two sons, Rodney Lowther and wife Brenda, Cape Girardeau, Terry Lowther and wife Shiela, Ozark, 5 grandchildren, Justin, Alexis, Brooke, Michael and Derek. 4 great grandchildren, Quinton, Trinity, Haylee and Chance. 1 brother, Richard Lowther, 1 sister, Maxine Hendrickson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, Springfield, with Rev. Jerry Francisco officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
