He was united in marriage to Shirley Ahrens on May 17, 1958 in Ballwin, MO. He was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was retired from Frisco/BN Railroad in 1986.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Shirley Hatz; parents, Leslie & Cecile Hatz; son, Clyde Hatz; grandson, Dillon Hatz.
He is survived by his sons Keith & Amy Hatz, Glenn & Kirsten Hatz, daughter, Jenise Hatz; grandchildren, Tasia & Kyle Kinney, Caleb, Kelsey, Shelby, Katlyn & Hanna Hatz & great-grandchild, Bliss; nieces; nephews; cousins & many friends.
Funeral will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10:00 AM, Trinity Lutheran, 1415 S Holland, Springfield under the care of Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc. or Trinity Lutheran Church.
