Clifford “Spider” Michael Helm, age 65, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away at Mercy Hospital on October 24, 2022. Clifford was born to Elwood and Betty (Hehn) Helm on May 12, 1957, in Phoenix, Arizona. Clifford was raised in Aberdeen, South Dakota before moving to Hawthorne, California, where he attended Leuzinger High School. After moving to Springfield from California, Clifford owned and operated an autobody repair shop on North National. He would later meet his significant other, Beverly Robinson, and the couple remained in a loving relationship for more than 37 years. Clifford was blessed with two daughters, Maryah and Heather.

When not working on automobiles, Clifford enjoyed the art of restoring antique toys, especially cars. His attention to detail and meticulous craftsmanship was evident in every project. Clifford quickly gained a reputation for being a restoration expert in the Springfield area. He and Beverly would spend countless in local flea markets looking for old toys and cars. He was also an avid motorcyclist who enjoyed drives in the country with Beverly. He enjoyed listening to classic rock and country music, especially Willie Nelson. Most of all, Clifford enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Betty Helm. He is survived by his significant other, Beverly Robinson; two daughters, Maryah Borst and her husband Matthew, and Heather Derryberry and her husband, Daniel; three grandchildren, Liam, Elijah, and Willow; and three sisters, Janice Brenenstahl and her husband AJ, Peggy Roane, and Francy Brenenstahl and her husband Frank. Clifford will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A visitation for Clifford Michael Helm will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 pm, at Greenlawn North Funeral Home in Springfield (3506 N. National). A funeral service officiated by pastor David Weston will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, 3:00 pm., at Greenlawn North Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
