Funeral services for Dale Arnold Roland age 74 of Hollister, Missouri will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson with Bro. Kelly Chilton officiating. He passed away on April 16, 2019 at his home in Hollister, Missouri.
Dale was born on November 1, 1944 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the son of Raymond and Gladys Buchholz Roland. He attended elementary and high school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Burlington Community College in Burlington, Iowa and Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg, Missouri. He worked as a manager for Household Finance in Quincy, Iowa then later purchased the Sun Valley Resort on Lake Taneycomo, Branson, Missouri and operated it for fifteen years. He also worked for Lance Inc for 16 years ending his career as District Sales Manager Branch #657.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army as a crew chief/door gunner with the 175th Assault Helicopter Crew, stationed in Vinh Long Vietnam from 1966-67. Dale was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America #1119, American Legion Post #0637, Vietnam Helicopter Crew Members Association and Vinh Long Outlaws Association. He was an avid hunter, golfer, fisherman, gardener and all around sports lover.
Survivors is his wife of 48 years, Maggie Roland of the home. Daughter, Kristen Chilton and husband Kenny, granddaughters, Brienne and Adria all of Nixa, Missouri. His mother-in-law; Alice Conroy of Maryland Heights, Missouri, brothers-in-law, Bill Conroy (Ruth) of Golden Colorado, Gerald Conroy (Maureen) of Maryland Heights, Missouri, Edward Conroy of Bonney Lake, Washington and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, his father-in-law, William Conroy, his beloved son Steve and grandson Sean.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019 at 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.
