Dan Murphy, (63), of Hollister, Missouri went to walk along side our Lord on January 3, 2024.  Dan was born to Robert and Shirley Murphy on August 29, 1960 in Canton, Illinois.  He was united in marriage to Esther DeFord 43 Years ago on April 26, 1980.  Dan was honored to enter into the Army Reserves in 1978.  He was a member of New Life Temple in Hollister, Missouri for over 20 Years.

Dan is survived by his wife Esther, two children Brandy and Tony (Heidi), and four Grandchildren, Reid, Annika, Quynn, and Violet.  He is also survived by his Brother David, Brother “the Missing Link,” and Sisters Julia and Joylynn, along with 1 niece, 7 nephews, and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

Dan held many titles in his life, but his favorite was being a husband, father, and grandfather.  He loved nothing more than spending time with the love of his life, Esther, their adult children Tony and Brandy, and his Grandchildren Reid, Annika, Quynn, and Violet.  Family was always first.  He was always there for them for whatever they needed.  He cherished every moment he had with them.  His Grandchildren loved spending time with “Pa” and will truly miss him.

Dan is reunited with his Mother and Father and his Aunt Janet and Uncle Jerry who have already crossed the Heavenly Bridge before him and will forever be together watching from above.

Services will be held at New Life Temple on Friday March 8, 2024 at 2pm with arrangements and cremation under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home in Brason.
