It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Kelly Scott, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us on April 17, 2025, at the age of 58. Born on August 14, 1966, in the city of Springfield, Missouri, to Ezra and JoEtta (Cook) Scott. Daniel lived a full life marked by love, dedication, to his family and career.
Daniel was a proud graduate, having earned his Bachelor’s Degree, which laid the foundation for a successful career in the transportation industry. As the Vice-President of Operations and Sales at a respected transportation company, he not only excelled professionally but also earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. His leadership style was characterized by integrity and empathy, traits that made a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to work alongside him. Daniel loved the outdoors, especially floating and fishing.
At home, Daniel found his greatest joy in being surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife, Sherry (Butler) Scott; his beloved children, his daughter, Jordan Miller and her husband, Cody, and his son, Gage Scott; and his cherished grandchildren, Raelynn, Emerson, and Tatum Miller, and grandson: Camdyn (Williams) Scott. He is also survived by his devoted sister, Tracy Wells, and her husband: Matthew, his loving nephews Jeremy Loveland and Tristan Wells, and niece Jessica Seyl.
As we mourn his passing, we also find solace in the memories he has gifted us. Daniel’s spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him, an enduring testament He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
