On September 11, 2021, Daniel L. Green, went to the loving arms of our Lord, surrounded by his family. Dan was born, October 12, 1955, in Fredonia, Kansas, to Ralph (Bud) & Corrine Green. As one of eight siblings, Dan grew up in rural Wilson County, attending country school until the fourth grade then moved into the Fredonia school district, graduating with the class of 1974.
Dan married Renetta on August 28th, 1976, and spent the next 45 years in wedded bliss. They had four perfect children, Shelly, Alicia, Daniel and Luke. And from these four children were blessed with nine even more perfect grandchildren, Jackson, Zane, Ella, Nicholas, Pierce, Karter, Jace, Revan & Sylvi. Dan and Renetta shared a love of the water and mountains.
Dan grew up working with his father and grandfather in the family businesses, eventually purchasing the tire shop in 1976. Having such a strong work ethic, he worked tirelessly providing tire service and towing recovery to the community and surrounding states. He volunteered with Sheriff department for over 10 years and 35 years with the fire department. He was a compassionate man with a heart of gold and would help anyone he met, even if that meant he would go without. His love and knowledge of history was readily shared in lively conversation. When he had something to share whether it was a story or a word of advice or encouragement, it was always met with a listening ear. Dan grudgingly retired after his children begged him to in order for his body to relax, although he refused to relax. His latest favorite pastime was playing with the grandchildren and making sure they knew he loved them.
Dan was preceded in death, by his parents Bud & Corrine (Honeyman) Green, and a younger brother, Thomas. He is survived by his remaining siblings Ray (Char) Green, Deanna (Patrick) Wilson, Pat (Beth) Green, Donna (Gordan) Craig, Jon (Jet) Green, and Andrea (Clint David) Blythe. He is also survived by his wife, Renetta, his daughter Shelly (Peter) Zohbon, daughter Alicia Green Osburn, Daniel Green, and Luke (Amanda) Green. His nine grandchildren Zane & Pierce Zohbon, Jackson & Nicholas Osburn, Ella, Karter, & Jace Green, and Revan & Sylvi Green.
A Celebration Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Fredonia Assembly of God Church with Mark Baker officiating.
