Darlene Kay Doyle went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 74 at 7:28pm on December 23, 2024 after a long battle with congestive heart failure. She had previously beat colon cancer in 2011. She was surrounded by her loving family in the nursing facility she had been residing in.
Darlene was born on April 10, 1950 in Lima, Ohio. She was saved at the early age of 10 years old at Lima Baptist Temple under Pastor Hall and wife Alicia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Elizabeth Bice and by her wonderful, loving husband of 41 and ¾ years.
Darlene leaves behind her children, Betty Doyle of Strafford, MO; Raymond Doyle (wife Melissa) of Willard, MO; David Doyle (wife Sally) of Ozark, MO; and step son Jeff Doyle (wife Christy) of Manassas Park, VA; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Caleb, and Connor Doyle; Jasmine and Jade Sondree; Zane and Ariana Doyle. She is also survived by her brother, Roger Bice; sister Cindy Sampson; an aunt, Marcella Jamison; and step-sisters Bobbie Jean and Lucretia Warren. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews as well as many loved friends.
Darlene transported military officers during her service for the United States Army. Darlene graduated nursing school in 1972 and went on to work in the nursing field up through 1984. She became a full time homemaker after her last child (David) was born. She loved being a wife and mother. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with her children and grandchildren; gardening with her husband; and showing rabbits with her husband which they raised from 1984 through 2014. She enjoyed reading and studying her Bible at her kitchen table. Darlene was a very loved member of Graceway Baptist Church, where she served the Lord and taught Sunday School. She also served with her husband for 14 years in ministry to children at Great Circle in Springfield, MO. Darlene was a past member of Eastern Star and a lifetime member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association since 1984.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26th, 2024 from 4pm to 6pm at Greenlawn East in Springfield, MO, and funeral services will be Friday, December 27th at 1pm at Greenlawn East in Springfield, MO. Pastor Bob Stephenson will officiate.
