Darrell Michael Henley, age 53, of Ozark, Missouri, passed away from a sudden cardiac event on January 17, 2025. Darrell was born to Lerona (Perry) Henley on October 24, 1971, in Fulton, MO. He was raised by Ira “Buddy” and Lerona Henley alongside his four younger siblings—Darren, Carrie, Brian, and Sarah. Darrell was united in marriage to Jennifer (Mace) Henley on July 29, 1990, in Springfield, MO. Darrell and Jennifer shared almost 35 years of marriage before Darrell’s untimely passing. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Caleb and Emma.
Darrell was an entrepreneur, and helped start several businesses, including yTen Business Solutions and Vacations Made Easy. He attended Missouri State University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management. Darrell’s work history included several occupations. Among them were construction, antique importing and sales, software and Web3 development, and starting and operating tourist attractions. For the past year, he had started working on an independent publishing studio with his children. He believed that you only fail when you stop learning and growing. He had many interests outside of work including cattle farming, playing cards, and enjoying nature. Darrell was the ultimate adventurer, and found joy in hunting, scuba diving, snowboarding, spear fishing, and traveling. As an avid collector, he had an appreciation for art, memorabilia, and other artifacts. Nothing, however, brought him more fulfillment than taking care of his family. He was a hard worker and did all he could to make sure his family was well cared for. Darrell will be remembered as a generous man that was eager to help those around him without making it known. He was a deeply spiritual man who loved Jehovah God. He always taught his family to live by Bible principles and to keep in mind our hope for the future.
Darrell was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harry Joe and Lerona L. Perry; and paternal grandparents, Ira “Bud” and Louise Henley. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Henley; son, Caleb and his wife Emily; daughter, Emma and her husband Gabe; father, Ira “Buddy” Henley; mother, Lerona D. Henley; and siblings, Darren, Carrie, Brian, Sarah, and their families.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home East.
