David B. Libbee of Springfield, Missouri passed away in his home on May 9, 2023. David was born on October 22, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was adopted by Guy and Helen Libbee from the old Baptist Children’s Home in St. Louis. He was raised on the Libbee farm. After graduating from Palmyra High School he managed a TG&Y store in Kansas City, Missouri. His dad moved to Springfield, and David decided to join him. He worked for over 20 years as a mechanic on passenger cars and over the road trucks. Before retirement, he worked at Snyder Equipment in Nixa, Missouri. David loved and owned many vintage cars. He shared his passion with his family and they were able to go to many car shows and street rod events. David also held many positions in various car clubs.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Dannette of the home; son, Brian Libbee and grandson, Dylan of Stover, Missouri; daughter, Heather Hoggard of Springfield, Missouri; son, Gregory (Wilsey) Libbee and grandchildren, Wynne Rose and Guy of Brooklyn, New York.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Springfield, Missouri.
