David was little a brother to me, the brother I never had. I know you all can't imagine not having his physical presence, laughter, support and advice with us anymore. I feel the same. I left the service yesterday without a single phone number or address and I wanted Jeff and Scott to know they can call me or bring Jake or Madelyn out anytime to ride my pony. It was something David wanted to do but wasn't able to. I have many stories to share, and so used to hearing about Scott and Jeff and the grand kids and his sisters, it would be nice to know how everyone is doing. Guess I just want to say I'm here for you, as someone who loved David with all my heart. My phone number is 417-343-5517 you can text or call anytime you need anything. I have so many David stories. 30-plus years' worth. He was always there for me. He never lied to me one time ever, and I could trust him. He made me laugh without trying to be funny. He wasn't afraid to be emotional or say I love you. I never knew a kinder man other than my own dad. After losing my dad, he was the one man I turned to for support and advice. Jeff said I helped David, but it was minuscule to how he helped me. Remodeling my house, helping me through losing my mom and later my dad. Taking me to lunch at weird places like the Nixa sale barn. And learning about the toy business and his trips to the toy show. There was one day he was at my house and saw some of my mom's jewelry laying out I was going to try to sell when my business was behind on bills. He'd had a good year with the Sno-Baller, and he loaned me $5,000 so I wouldn't have to sell the jewelry. I finally had to sell the newspapers and was able to pay him back because I knew his finances were starting to go downhill. That was so sweet of him. He loved his grand babies to pieces. That's my friend, David. Like a brother. I will miss him. His only fault was he worried too much. David didn't tell me how sick he was. I would have been in closer contact had I known. I dropped by his house two weeks ago and left some food I'd made for him, and he wasn't home. He said he was losing weight and I was trying to fatten him up. He said Janet was always good about having him over for dinner. He loved you all so much. I'm sorry this is so long. I wanted you to all know the man I knew was a great man. Smart, talented, funny, handsome, creative, kind, loving David. We have an angel who walked the earth guiding us and watching over us. I'm sorry for your loss. It is a great loss, know that I'm praying for you and thinking of you.
