Valhalla and Odin received another warrior April 3, 2022 at 12:05 am. David Wayne Faught passed away after fighting a long rough battle with cancer. David was a local comic and pinup artist that had work on comics and movies. He loved what he did and a pencil and sketchpad or his iPad was never far from him. He was all the time drawing and creating.
David is survived by his sister, Christy Faught, of the home, brother Jason Dawson and fiancé Julie Good Brighton Mo, sister Marlana Garrison her husband Melvin Garrison Marshfield Mo; nephew Xavier Tabor Marshfield Mo; step-mother Pamela Faught Hannah, stepfather Michael L .Hannah Republic Mo; aunt and uncle Roger and Sandy Faught of Walnut Grove Mo, as well as cousins, family and friends he loved dearly, especially his brothers and their families from the Ozarks Ghostbusters.
He is preceded in death by his parents Rex and Charlotte Faught, grandmother Helen Scritchfield and grandparents are Horace and Suzy Faught, as well as his beloved pup Peanut.
Come help us Celebrate David on May 20th 6:00 til 9:00 pm at Springfield Lake Boathouse we are having a celebration of life/potluck. From 6:00 til 7:00 pm food will be served, you are welcome to bring something but not necessary. From 7:00 til 9:00 PM a song or 2 and sharing stories about him just reliving memories. Per David’s request please feel free to come dressed as your favorite character. Anything from Sci fi to horror to comics, but it is not required as we celebrate.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Southwest Missouri Human Society, 3161 W Norton Rd, Springfield, MO 65803

On behalf of the Skiffytown League of Heroes, I wish to offer our sincere condolences. David contributed to our mission through his art, and we will always be grateful. The portrait he created of our fallen comrade, Porthos the Superdog, hangs in a place of honor at Sanctuary Animal Rescue. There are no words to describe how much David will be missed. I personally had so many long conversations via Messenger through his trials and my own as we navigated through a sometimes trying world. I only wish we could have met in person. I paraphrase the words of the great Shawnee Chief Tecumseh - "When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home." Hail the Traveler.

You both are very special to me since I found out that Rex was your dad who protected me when I first floated to 10E. I had been at MCFP for only 3 months His friendly demeanor and robust laughter was infectious which quickly put me at ease. It was then that I knew that I would be safe. You and David are Rex’s twins.
When I first met you, it was at Rex’s memorial that Cox South annually held for all the patients who had passed away). We instantly found a connection. Your stepmom, Pam and I worked as nurses together.
Please know that I am here for you Christy.

Christy, Even though you may feel alone, You are not alone because Rex’s MCFP Family Cares and Share in your Grief. One fond memory of mine was when Walmart had the specialty M&M’s for the Fall Season. The popular M&Ms(Hazelnut) were emptied and very hard to find. but I saw you and David and y’all showed me where they I wear and I quickly bought the remaining ones off the shelf.
