Deana Kathleen Stewart, age 79, of Hollister, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025 from stage 4 lung cancer after a long diligent battle. In the end her family says she valued the quality of her life over the length of it and lived her final days full of love and support. Born on April 6, 1945, in Pomona, California, Deana lived a life filled with warmth, leaving an enduring mark on all those who knew her.
Deana was a devoted mother to her daughter Cheryl Johnson (Lynn) of Marshfield, MO, and her son Jimmy Hout of Topeka, KS. She cherished her role as a loving grandmother to Alicha Rohman of Hollister, MO, Jamie Daugherty of Seymour, MO, and Spencer Hout of Springfield, MO. Her heart swelled with pride as she welcomed her great-grandchildren: Lilly Smith of Seymour, MO, Ridge Daugherty of Seymour, MO, and Legend Rohman of Hollister, MO, and her great-great-grandchild, Waylen Malin also of Seymour, MO. Deana is also survived by her beloved sister, Carol Ann Theyer of Apple Valley, California, and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever treasure her memory.
Deana was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Twila, as well as her brothers Bob and Carl Peck, and sister Beverly Day.
Throughout her life, Deana found joy in simple pleasures. She had a passion for gardening and yard work, a love for family gatherings, and a knack for enjoying life’s little thrills—be it through travel, computer games, or her favorite Hallmark movies. Deana’s playful spirit also shone through in her love for gambling and her faithful companion, her dog Buck.
The family will be holding a visitation at Greenlawn Funeral Home Branson on March 22, 2025, at 1:30 PM. This will be a time to celebrate Deana’s remarkable life and to share memories with those who knew and loved her. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery at approximately 2:30 PM, where she will be laid to rest, surrounded by the beauty of the Ozarks that she cherished.
Deana Kathleen Stewart will be remembered for her kind heart, infectious laughter, and unconditional love. She leaves behind a legacy woven into the lives of her family and friends, and her spirit will continue to shine brightly in their hearts.
