In loving memory of Debra Elizabeth Younger, a cherished soul who embodied grace and strength. Born on November 10, 1956, in Springfield, MO, she blessed this world with her presence until September 24, 2024. A daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, she touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Debbie, as she was affectionately known, was a Hillcrest High School alumnus, graduating in 1975 and showcasing her athletic prowess in softball playing center field and as pitcher. Her wedding to Dearld Dean Younger on a snowy Christmas night in 1978 marked the beginning of a beautiful love story. Their home was a sanctuary filled with music, particularly the timeless tunes of Journey and classic rock, reflecting her vibrant spirit. She became a doting mother to Nicholas and Misty. They shared 30 years of memories and love till his untimely passing August 13, 2005.
A devoted St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs fan, Debbie radiated joy while watching her beloved teams play. She had such a competitive spirit which led her to join a bowling league with her husband and brother to continue fondly compete. She found solace in the simple pleasures of life – relishing the scent of roses, dancing to her favorite songs, and indulging in the drama of her favorite soap operas.
She was met in heaven by her father, Roy Blumer and her cherished husband, Dearld.
Debbie is survived by her brother Robert Blumer, her son Nicholas Younger, her daughter Misty Altic, and son-in-law Eric Altic, two grandchildren Jonathan and Emma Younger, other family members and friends. Together, they will honor her memory and celebrate her life at Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 3:00 – 5:00 pm.
As family and friends gather to pay their respects, their hearts will overflow with reminiscences of Debbie’s warmth, laughter, and unwavering love. Though she may have bid farewell to this world, her light will forever shine in the hearts of those she held dear.
