Dennis Karol Hymer entered this world on December 13, 1951 in Joplin, Mo. As the third child of Clyde Hymer Jr. and Rose Ann Hymer (Jacoby).
After graduating from Parkwood High School in the class of 1969, he served his Country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He spent most of his career in construction. He traveled around the country as a project manager primarily in power plants.
He and his wife, Tina, retired to a small farm near Strafford, Mo. They enjoyed gardening, however, most of the time they could be found fishing on their houseboat on Stockton Lake. Unfortunately, he lost Tina four years ago from an unexpected illness.
Dennis wanted to meet “the maker of the birds” and he did just that at 6:09 A.M., August 20, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother, Gregory.
He is survived by a brother, Larry (Jennifer) of Grove, Ok., a sister, Jane Hymer Lant (Bill) of Pineville, Mo., a son, Aaron (Emily) of Alaska; a daughter, Kasey Peden of Joplin, Mo., two stepdaughters, Shalon and Melissa Doney and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Per Dennis’ request, his body has been taken for cremation and will be buried beside his wife at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, Mo. Graveside services for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 11:00 A.M.
