Dickie Harrison Smith, 58, of Springfield, Missouri passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at his home.
He was born January 14, 1955 in Springfield, Missouri to Loretta Harrison.
Dickie was raised by his maternal grandmother Leora.
He was a transmission rebuilder at C&M Gearworks.
Dickie is preceded in death by his grandmother and mother.
He is survived by his wife Sharon, whom he shared 23 wonderful years; daughter Kayla and son Adam; five brothers Bill, Buck, Hank, Jim and Joe; three sisters Ermalene, Karen and Karla; mother and father-in-law Bill and Wilma; brother-in-law Bill; 16 nieces and nephews; and so many special friends, including his long-time friend Mike Watson.
Dickie worked very hard to provide for his family and gave them the best
years of his life. He was loved by so many for his generosity, and was always there to help anyone in need. He was a proud and devoted husband and dad. His passion for old cars and trucks, as well as hunting and the outdoors he loved to share with Kayla and Adam, provided him with a full and happy life while he was here with us.
Sharon, Kayla, and Adam would like to thank all of our wonderful family and friends that have been there for us through this rough time. We know he was loved by so many and feel blessed that we all got the opportunity to have Dickie in our lives.
Services for Dickie will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East with interment in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. before services.
