Donald Edward Robinson (Robbie) passed away August 23, 2015 at Magnolia Square in Springfield, MO after a long illness with Alzheimers and heart disease. Donald Robinson was born July 27, 1927 in Kansas City, Mo. The only child of Lee M. and Bessie Robinson. In 1945 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Germany during WW2. Upon his return he married Mary Alice Caffey in 1948. Together they has 3 children, 1 granddaughter, and 1 great grandson. MaDona Lee Duncan, residing in Brandon, FL; Paul Joseph Robinson, deceased; Scott Edward Robinson, deceased; Melinda Lee Frost, residing in Valrico, FL; Dillon Robinson Frost, residing in Valrico, FL. He had a long and fulfilling career in law enforcement, serving for 60 years. Lebanon, MO Police; MO Highway Patrol; Frisco Railroad Detective; Burlington-Northern Railroad Detective; MO State Marshall; Bailiff in Greene County Court System. He was an elder at Southminster, Westminster and Woodland Heights Presbyterian Churches. He was a proud member of the Masons for over 50 years. His wife of 45 years – Mary Robinson – passed away after a long illness. In 1993 he married Jane Wheeler who had 4 sons and their families, Michael Wheeler and wife Carolyn and one son of Glendora, CA. Jerry Wheeler and wife Bette and two sons of Eagan, MN. Gregory Wheeler and wife Patti and 4 children and 6 grandchildren all of Springfield, MO. Stephen Wheeler and wife Helen and two daughters and one grandchild of Springfield, MO. Don was a great blessing when he came to our family. A great husband, father, friend and mentor! Thank you to Dr. Halley and the personnel at Magnolia Square nursing home for all the kind and loving care given to Don. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is at peace with his Lord! Visitation will be on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Greenlawn East and the service will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. and burial will be in Phillipsburg, MO.
