Donald Earl Sneddon Jr, 86, of Springfield, MO, passed away April 23, 2014. He was born October 4, 1928 in Cedar Rapids, IA, the son of Donald E. Sneddon Sr and Genevieve (Thompson) Sneddon.
He served his country in the US Army and later worked for the Springfield Regional Airport, after retiring from the airport, he worked for Davies IGA. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and The American Legion Post 0676 for 34 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Shirley Sneddon Welch. Donald is survived by his wife of 67 years Lula Smith Sneddon of the home, sons; Donald Wayne and wife Joann of Des Moines, IA and Craig Tyler of Michigan a daughter Cynthia Hemburger of the home, a brother Richard Sneddon and wife Josephine of Rochester, NY, seven grandchildren; Shawna Terry, Donald Wayne Sneddon, Nichle Izzolena, Natalie Oldham, Patty Sneddon, Danny Hemburger and Jessica Fenimore, seven great grandchildren, his pride and joy great-great grandson Braden Gideon, two sisters-in-law; Donna Norris and Ann Smith, several nieces, nephews, his buddy Mike Lindsey and many other friends.
Graveside services will be Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 am at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Online condolences may be left at www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com.
