Donald Leslie Heston was born on July 14, 1948 in Joliet, IL. He went home to be with Jesus on November 1, 2022. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Heston (Chase), his parents, Avery and Novella Heston, his brother, Allen Heston Sr., his sister Margaret Newberry, and a granddaughter Autumn Rayne Heston-Jones.
Surviving are his four daughters, Tuesday Heston of Branson, Stephanie Thompson (William Thompson) of Harrison AR., Teresa Cronin (Michael Cronin) of Kirbyville, MO., and Staci Merriman (Joshua “Jay” Merriman) of Hollister, MO. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and one great grandson as well as countless friends and family.
Don “Pops” Heston loved his grandkids and family along with his best friend Stubby with his whole heart. He never met a stranger and would give his shirt off of his back even though he may have needed it. Some of our fondest memories are games of dominos and Yahtzee (MAX 4 players and no phones allowed) and fun snapchat filters. Pops loved to sing along to his classic country radio station and flip between that and Gunsmoke. He was an avid coin collector and loved the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals. In his earlier years, he liked to hunt and work in his wood shop. He may have been stubborn as all get out, but he loved all and loved big.
