Donna Lee Landreth, age 92, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on April 24, 2023, at Cox South Hospital. She was born on April 16, 1931, in Warrensburg, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Edward Lee Landreth on June 14, 1952, in Harrison, Arkansas. The couple shared 70 wonderful years of marriage and were blessed with three loving daughters: Vicki, Susan, and Linda.
Donna’s life centered around her husband and children. She took considerable pride in being a housewife and mother. Early in her marriage, Donna worked at Cox North Hospital as an EKG technician. Her career was short lived, however, given her real desire to become a fulltime homemaker. Fewer things brought Donna more joy than caring for her family and her home. She especially liked to shop at Hobby Lobby, flea markets, and thrift stores for hidden treasures. Donna also enjoyed setting planters out in the springtime, especially red geraniums. Donna loved to read books and listen to audiobooks, in particular, books about pioneer days or the American frontier. Given her passion for the Old West, it is no wonder that she and her family visited Gunnison County, Colorado, for over 20 years. For more than 60 years, Donna and Lee were active members of the Pleasant Valley Church. More recently, they started attending the Sac River Cowboy in Springfield. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Donna’s endless love of Lee and her family is the legacy she leaves behind.
Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn Falwell; stepfather, H. E. Falwell; and two sisters, Betty Weatherford and Jeannie Langdon. She is survived by her husband, Lee Landreth; daughter, Vicki Landreth; daughter, Susan Grantham and husband, Tom; daughter, Linda Bachman and husband, Joe; sister, Susan Anderson; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
A visitation for Donna Lee Landreth will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023, from 12:00-1:00 pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North (3506 N National). A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 1:00 pm, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens (section I). There will be a formal procession from the funeral home to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Donna’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org or 866-278-5833).
