Donna Louis Baxter was born on January 7, 1938 to Harry and Ethel Snyder in Indianapolis, Indiana. She passed away June 14, 2018 in Springfield, Missouri at 80 years of age.
Donna was the mother of three children, Steven Ray Snyder, Indianapolis, In., Roxie Louise Snyder, Clever, In. and Michael Ray Snyder of Indianapolis, In. In December of 1989, Donna married Oscar David Baxter of Springfield, Mo. They were married until his death on November 19, 1994.
Donna is survived by one sister, Ruth Ann Doyle of Indianapolis, In.
Donna confirmed her faith in Christ multiple times. Prior to coming to Central Assembly, she attended Silver Springs Chapel.
In 2004 Donna began as a monthly guest at Central Assembly’s Food Pantry. Shortly thereafter, she actually became a volunteer, working for the Food Pantry. From that time, until recently, Donna faithfully served every second Friday and every second Saturday of each month in the community outreach of Central’s Food Pantry. During those years, Donna never missed one month as a volunteer until the month when her health failed.
Donna integrated into the Joint Heirs Class at Central and found an additional level of loving faith family in the membership of that group. She was equally faithful to that class, supporting it to the best of her abilities and receiving the group’s love in return.
Additionally, Donna was an ardent supporter of Legacy Senior Adult Ministries and also participated in the Red Hatters group. To many others, however, she will be remembered as a gregarious, friendly and welcoming ambassador-at-large, roaming Central’s Foyer greeting friends and making new ones.
She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by those fortunate enough to share life and faith with her these past years.
