Mrs. Perkins was born Doris Jean Hinsen on April 7, 1932 in Boss, Missouri to Goldie Floyd Hinsen and Montie Hinsen. She married Farrel Glenn Perkins on August 6, 1948. Survivors include her sister, Bobbie Farmer; son, Steven Perkins and wife, Betty; daughter-in-law, Wanda Perkins Harris; grandchildren, Brooke and husband, Joe; Kristen and husband, Phil; Ryan and wife, Rheagan; Chad and wife, Keri; great-grandchildren, Madison, Evan, McKenna, Isabel, Caden, Stella, Laityn, Joseph IV, Kinley and Crew.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; son, Keith; brothers, Norman and Jerry; and sister, Nelda.
Doris was fortunate to call both Missouri and California home. She enjoyed many happy years of retirement, travel and time with family following her retirement from Hewlett Packard Corporation in 1984.
Funeral service for Doris Jean Perkins will be at 1pm on Monday, October 15, 2018 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, Springfield.
Interment will be in the Rivermonte Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12pm to 1pm on Monday, October 15th, before the funeral service.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Season’s Hospice for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Perkins.
Doris’ heart was saving babies. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Pregnancy Care Center, Springfield.
