Dorothy Ellen Spencer of Long Lane, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her home on October 8, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on June 11, 1945, in Springfield, Missouri, she was the beloved daughter of Charles and Marry Weatherford.
Dorothy was a woman of remarkable creativity and warmth. Her artistic talent knew no bounds, she brought beauty into the world through her quilting, crocheting, cake decorating, and a lifelong career in hairdressing. Each creation reflected her loving spirit and the deep care she had for those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; a grandchild; and her beloved husbands, Larry Ogan and John Spencer.
Dorothy’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted mother to four children: Chuck Ogan, Pat Brown, Teressa Stanek, and Ricky Spencer. She was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and the cherished great-grandmother of 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandbaby. Her love extended beyond her immediate family to many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who felt the warmth of her generosity and kindness.
Never one to overlook her furry companions, Dorothy also leaves behind her two treasured grand-pups, Yogi Bear the Saint Bernard and Guinness the Bullmastiff, who brought her comfort and joy.
Dorothy’s life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and creativity. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Special thanks too:
