Mrs. Dorothy Mae Owens, age 97, of Springfield, MO. passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Ozark Methodist Manor, Marionville, MO. Dorothy was born to Delmar and Lola (Tharp) West, on September 15, 1926 in Pine, MO. Dorothy was a homemaker who had also worked at Sears and Roebuck Store for a number of years. She loved knitting and making lap robes for Hospice. She also loved listening to Glenn Miller Music and living on the farm. She was of the Southern Baptist Faith and a member of The Daughters Of The American Revolution.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Harold Wayne Owens, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Patterson and her husband, Jerry, her son, Kermit Owens and his wife, Janie, four grandchildren: Gina and Darin Patterson, Kermit E. and Justin Owens, five great-grandchildren: Kevin, Kate, Morgan, Johnny, and Thomas, and three great-great-grandchildren: Lilly, Waverly, and Juniper, she is also survived by her sister: Ann Larkin and her husband, Joe, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2024, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, with visitation one hour before services, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
