Douglas Newman Rolufs, age 70, of Springfield, MO. went to join his Heavenly Father on Monday, April 17, 2017. He was a handyman and mechanic. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed the outdoors, camping, carp fishing and loved to make his famous homemade ice cream and sancho’s, and loved to eat. He was preceded in death by his spouse, Linda Wilcox Rolufs of 35 years and 4 months, his mother, Helen, and his father, Newman. Also preceding him in death are his granddad and grandmother Keeling, and his grandson, Jonathan Shaffer. Douglas is survived by his six children; Sheila Shaffer and husband Jeff, Malica Rolufs, Michael Rolufs and wife Susan, Stephanie Shaffer and husband Alan, Daniel Rolufs and wife Mea, Robin Goetz and husband Tyler, 11 grandchildren; Justin, Matthew and Logan Shaffer, Anna Rolufs, Chris, Anthony and Zackary Rolufs, Stormy Riddle and Malarie Rolufs, Joshua and Madison Goetz, 4 sisters; Joena Choate, Beverly Hursman, Patricia Jones, and Peggy Kepley, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Visitation will be Thursday, April 20, 2017, 6:00-8:00pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Services will be Friday, April 21, 2017 at 3:00pm, also at Greenlawn North, with Rev.
