Mr. Durward Kenneth Walker, age 84, of Bolivar, passed away Monday August 2, 2010 in Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, MO. He was born November 16, 1925 in Polk, MO to Russell Hightower and Anna (Roberts) Walker. On March 1, 1946 he was united in marriage to Ada Lee Lipe, and to this union 5 sons were born. At age 14 he was saved and joined the Sentinel Missionary Baptist Church and was a member for over 70 years. He was a livestock hauler and a farmer.
Durward was preceded in death by his parents; and one infant brother Urban Walker.
He is survived by his wife of 64 yrs Ada Lee of the home; sons Kenneth Lee Walker and wife Debbie of Springfield; Rick Walker and wife Vicki of Aldrich; Randall Walker and wife Janice of Bolivar; Greg Walker and wife Tammy of Polk; and William Russell Walker and wife Becky of Bolivar; one brother Velbert Walker and wife Mary Belle of Polk; one sister Martha Davison and husband Vernon of Bolivar; 18 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Durward Kenneth Walker are at 11:00 AM, Friday August 6, 2010 in Pitts Chapel with Brothers Jackie Brakebill and Gayland Lightfoot officiating. Burial to follow in the Sentinel Cemetery in Polk, MO. Visitation is Thursday August 5, from 6 – 8 pm in the funeral home. Pallbearers his grandsons Dustin Walker, Weston Walker, Nathan Walker, Clayton Walker, Wyatt Walker, Jared Walker and Cody Walker. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Sentinel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
