Edith Marie Baker, 78, departed this earth and entered into her Heavenly Father’s presence at 11:23pm, May 14, 2014. She was born June 6, 1935 in Salina, KS, to Roy and Bertha Lambott. She graduated from Topeka High School, Topeka, KS. She enrolled at Baptist Bible College, Springfield, MO, in 1953, where she met her future husband, Lloyd Baker. They were married June 3, 1956. Edith served alongside her husband in full time ministry as a pastor’s wife in Carthage, Mo. for 3 years, then as a missionary in the Philippines for 53 years. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; her son, Dr. Daniel Baker and daughter-in-law, Nichole Baker; daughter, Janette Paxton, son-in-law David Paxton. Edith is also survived by six grandchildren; Heather, Rachel, Joseph, Tracy, Laura, and Emma; three sisters; Wilma, Elaine, Edelyn, and a host of friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 2:00pm, in the chapel at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation.
