Edsel was born in Niangua, MO., July 23, 1927 to Guy and Ethel (Massey) Wantland. He graduated from Niangua High School and served in the Navy during World War II. He was employed by McCurdy Paint Co. for 391/2 years and the Y.M.C.A. for 81/2 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother; Bill Wantland. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia (McLemore), son; Larry and wife Gayle of Ozark, MO., daughter; Lisa and husband Jack Ehrhart of Battlefield, MO., grandsons; Jason and wife Elizabeth, Evan and wife Missy Wantland, and Nicholas Ehrhart, one sister; Vieta Slavens of Texas. He is also survived by his best friend, Max. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at 10:00 AM, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
