Edwin (Eddie) Lew Morris Jr was born 7/15/1948 to Edwin Lew Morris Sr. and Grace Maxine Morris in Ponca City Oklahoma. He graduated from Ponca City High School in 1967 and attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and a beloved uncle Sye Morris as well as numerous aunts and uncles and cousins. He married Brenda Buxton in 1973 and to this union a son, Brent Edward Morris, was born. Brent has two children, Leah and Luke all of Ozark Mo. Eddie loved his grandkids and enjoyed spending time with them. He was very proud of the adults they have become.Eddie is also survived by his sister Sara Lynn Butler of Ponca City and two nephews, Jeff Lee and his family and Jerry Lee and his family all of Ponca City and many cousins. He was very close to his in-laws and enjoyed all the large family get togethers. One year, he played Santa Claus at the family Christmas party and he was the life of the party. He has two surviving sister in laws, Alicia Surridge (Mike) and Jayne Austin and a brother in law Bruce Buxton(Debbie) and their families. He loved entertaining them with his jokes and quick wit Three sister in laws preceded him in death Cheryle Tapp (Dave), Trish Snelson (Bill) and Joan Denison and his mother in law Sue Buxton and father in law Jim Buxton.
Eddie worked as a District Sales Manager for the Newspaper printing Corporation out of Tulsa for 20 plus years and Gannett Publishing as a District Sales Manager out of Springfield Missouri for 17 plus years. He had many good friends he was still close to from the Springfield News Leader that stayed close through his death. He was an avid bowler bowling in leagues in both Ponca City and Springfield. While living in Ponca City, he was a long time softball umpire. He moved to Springfield in 1994 and became a Realtor with Buxton Realty. He partnered with his mother-inlaw, Sue Buxton to build houses. He was also a member of First Baptist Church in Springfield where he was active in Freeway Ministries with his wife and Meals on Wheels.
Services for Edwin will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 29, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 pm Saturday, November 29, 2025 prior to the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home East.
