Ella Mae Hoover, age 87 of Bolivar, MO, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 28, 1934, in Corinth, MS, to Banks B. and Arrie Mae (Yarber) Childers. She was united in marriage to Johnnie Adams Hoover January 25, 1951, and to this union four daughters were born.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 69 years Johnnie Hoover; a daughter Julie Mae Hoover; and four brothers: Banks Jr., Jim, Hillie, and Ray Childers.
She is survived by three daughters: Joyce Ponder and husband Dean, Beckie Tegethoff and husband Bud, and Teresa Hoover and partner Michele; six grandchildren: Julie Hague and husband Chris, Aimee Hollenbeck and husband Jason, Adam Lentz and wife Rachel, Timothy Tegethoff, Rebekah and Mekalah Tegethoff; seven great grandchildren: Savannah, Brandon, Katie, Allison, Julianne, Johnnie, and Layahna; one brother Wayne Childers; one sister Billie Guy Sexton; half siblings: Danny Brown, Patsy Richards, and Connie Brown; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Pitts Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, April 21, 2022, at the New Beginnings Full Gospel Church Humansville, MO, with Pastor Matthew Underwood officiating. Ella Mae “sissy” was my precious sister. We prayed for her and the family regularly. Now we will be praying for my nieces and their families. Sissy and Johnny were a blessing to so many people over the years. Lives were changed because of them and I’m sure there is a great reunion going on in Heaven . Again prayers will continue to lifted up for the family as they face a new normal. God Bless and may all of you experience His mercy. Uncle Danny.
