Mrs. Elsie G. Gaynor, age 94 of Pleasant Hope, MO, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2009, in the Colonial Springs Healthcare Facility Buffalo. She was born August 13, 1915, in Pleasant Hope, MO, to Mack and Gertrude (Clave) Choate. She was saved at the age of 13 and has been a lifelong member of the Rock Prairie Missionary Baptist Church. She was united in marriage to Fred Gaynor December 21, 1945, and to this union two children were born.
Her parents; her husband of 35 years Fred Gaynor; a granddaughter Lisa Covert; a brother Wilfred Choate; her sister Thelma Sallee; precede her in death.
She is survived by two children: Madeline Dohle of Pleasant Hope, MO, and Gaylord Gaynor and his wife Donna of Halfway, MO; three grandchildren: Dean Dohle and wife Stacy, Sarah Rovenstine and husband Chuck, and Steven Gaynor; six great grandchildren: Jessica and Andrew Covert, Grant Dohle, Justin, Jarrett, and Hallie Jo Rovenstine; two brothers: Novie Choate, and Willard Choate and wife Jean all of Pleasant Hope, MO; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 11, 2009, in the Rock Prairie Missionary Baptist Church with Bro.’s DeWayne Burdette and Donald Lane officiating. The musical selections to be sung by the Church Choir are “How Great Thou Art”, “Will The Circle Be Unbroken”, “I Will Meet You In The Morning”. . Burial will follow in the Rock Prairie Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dean Dohle, Steven Gaynor, Chuck Rovenstine, Eddie Covert, Freddie Gaynor, and Vester Choate.
