Emily Lavonn “Bonny” Langston

Emily Lavonn “Bonny” Langston was born July 30, 1938 in McClure, Illinois.  Bonny passed on to glory on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Quail Creek Nursing Center, Springfield, MO.  She is preceded in death by parents Cyril and Lura Bell Craig, daughter Michelle McGregor, and brother Jim Craig.  She is survived by husband Alan K Langston of Ozark, MO; brother Bill Craig and wife Verna of Ozark, MO; brother Robert Craig and wife Margaret of Brookport, IL; sister-in-law Mary Craig of Bethalto, IL; daughter and son-in-law Susan and Robert Stagner of Azle, TX; Son-in-law Ken McGregor of Rogers, AR; grandchildren Landon Stagner of Azle, TX; Risa Forge and Kea McGregor of Ozark, MO; one great-grandchild Nainoa Forge; and many nephews, nieces, their families, and many extended family members.

Bonny gave her life to Christ at the young age of 15 at Unity Baptist Church, East St Louis, IL.  On Nov, 14, 1959 Bonny married the love of her life, Al Langston, and they shared nearly 64 years together.  Together they raised two daughters and devoted themselves to family and church life.  They had a lasting impact on the lives of many young people as youth directors at First Baptist Church Springfield, MO. during the 1970’s.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home, Springfield, MO, Pastor Michael Overton of First Baptist Church, Springfield, officiating.  Services are at 11 am, Friday, June 9, 2023 at Greenlawn Funeral Home (East), preceded by visitation at 10 am.  Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Springfield, MO immediately following, with a brief graveside service.
