He is preceded in death by his father, Perry Rippy; mother, Beulah Leatherbury; brother, Kenneth Rippy; and daughter, Gina Price. He is survived by his wife, Mary Allen-Rippy; son, Royce Rippy; daughter, Lanetta Rippy; sister, Phyllis Leatherbury; five grandsons, three granddaughters, four great-grandchildren and numerous other family and friends. No services are planned. Cremation is entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home South and the family suggests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
