F. Luella Hull (Hayes), age 84, of Brighton, Missouri, passed away on November 17, 2024, at Cox South Hospital. Luella was born to Elmer Hayes and Jewell Hays on September 3, 1940, in their home west of Walnut Grove, Missouri. She was raised in Walnut Grove, Missouri, and graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1959. Luella was united in marriage to Hollis Hull on April 6, 1961, in Springfield, Missouri. The couple was blessed with two children: Tim Hull and Cyndi Edwards.
Luella was employed in the meat processing business for several years and eventually retired working as a merchandiser for American Greetings. When not working, Luella’s favorite past times were spent with family, working outdoors, gardening, and sewing. She adored the time spent with her sister Betty’s family, in particular. Their get-togethers included family entertainment such as singing, playing music together, and playing cards. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren with whom she loved with all her heart. Luella never had idle hands. She had to be doing something at all times. She was a very talented seamstress, always busy sewing something for her family and friends or doing embroidery. She was happiest when gardening. She had a love for flowers and just getting her hands in the dirt.
Luella was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Hull; in-laws, Fred and Lucille Hull; parents, Elmer and Jewell Hayes; brothers, Bill Hayes and Ronnie Hayes; and brother-in-law, Willard Cooksey. She is survived by sister, Betty Cooksey; son, Tim Hull and wife Cyndi and their son Zane; daughter, Cyndi Edwards and her three daughters Rachele Hull, Kylee Edwards, and Dani and her husband Toby Kurpjuweit; seven great-grandchildren; and many other loving nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Luella will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield, Missouri. Interment will follow at a later date (yet to be determined). In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Luella’s memory to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Arrangements are under the compassionate direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield, Missouri.
