Forrest Lynn Duncan, age 80 of Bolivar, MO, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Missouri Veterans Home Mt. Vernon, MO. He was born February 17, 1943, in Ashland, IL, to Orvill Lynn and Mildred Irene (Davison) Duncan. He graduated from Ashland High School the class of 1961, and then entered the US Army. Forrest served in the Army until he retired as First Sargant in 1982. He was united in marriage to Carol Graham December 12, 1963, and to this union two children were born.
Forrest was a good man, respectful of his family, and treated his wife like a queen! He was a good dad and wonderful husband.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a half sister Elaine White.
Forrest is survived by his wife of 60 years Carol of the home; his children: Cynthia Duncan, and Michael Duncan and his wife Ann all of Springfield, MO; five grandchildren: Logan, Jordan, Shane, Samantha, and Molly; two great grandchildren; two half-sisters: Connie VanDyke, and Ruthie File both of Springfield, IL; as well as other relatives and friends.
According to Forrest’s wishes his body will be cremated. Inurnment will take place at Missouri Veterans Cemetery with full military honors at a later date. Online condolences may be made at: www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO.
