Frances Mae Hufft McGehee, 96, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on October 19, 2023 in Springfield, Missouri.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2023, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, 441 W. Battlefield, Springfield, MO. Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery. Arrangements have been made by Greenlawn Funeral Home South.

Frances was born in Groom, Texas to Oscar and Clara Sandy on January 12, 1927. She attended school in Stoutland, Missouri. She married Rev. Dale Hufft June 27, 1965, he preceded her in death. In 1995 Frances married Andrew McGehee, he preceded her in death. She was a member of Women’s Circle at First Baptist Church in Richland, Missouri, where she was also active in choir. She loved to horseback riding, reading, painting, and genealogy.

Frances was a traditional wife, homemaker, and she took great pride in rearing her children. She was a loving wife, best friend, and working partner with Dale and later Andy.

Frances is preceded in death by Rev. Dale Hufft, Andrew McGehee, Oscar and Clara Sandy (parents), Beverly Cole (daughter), Gene Cole (son), Ruth Brown 9sister), Eula Smith (sister), Verla Sandy (sister), Max Sandy (brother) and Lonnie Brown (brother-in-law).

Frances is survived by daughters Melva Cole and Twila Hillme (Dwayne); grandsons Ryan Cole (Jenna) and David Cole; great-grandchildren, Hollis Cole, Chaise Cole, Alex Fox and Megan Fox; great-great grandchild, Catie Jane; stepchildren, Mark McGehee, Ann McCormick, Susan McGehee and Sandra Rayls and numerous nieces, nephews, and step grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Troy York, Nathan Posten, Blake Payne, Greg Warren, Bruce Warren, Roy Mitschele, and Jerry Laughlin.

The family would also like to thank the wonderful nursing staff on floor 7E at Mercy Hospital that took care of Frances.
