Frank E. Schwartz, age 93, of Springfield passed away Saturday, November 17th, 2018 at Cox Medical Center South .
Frank was born August 3, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to of Frank and Anna Schwartz. Frank served in the United States Marines during World War II, after his service he attended the University of Detroit where he received a degree in Chemical Engineering. He worked for Dupont in South Carolina for several years before working for the 3M Company for 30 years, retiring in 1985.
He was united in marriage to Mary Haguewood on May 24, 1974 in Springfield, MO. After retirement Frank and Mary moved to Table Rock Lake so, Frank could fish.
They moved back to Springfield in 1998. After moving to Springfield, Frank began walking 18 holes of golf five days a week with a senior group. Frank had 4 holes in one. He was a member of The Elks # 409 and American Legion, Kimberling City.
Survivors include his loving wife Mary E. Schwartz; seven children, Karen Lingsweller and husband Paul, Garland, TX, Frank Schwartz, Springfield, Gary Schwartz and wife Chris, Fair Play, Peggy Staver and husband Andy, Kansas City, MO, Eric Schwartz and wife Kim, Columbia, Martin Schwartz and wife Carol, Aurora, and Scott Schwartz; two step-sons, Robert Haguewood and wife Sharon, Republic and Donald Haguewood, Springfield; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, George Schwartz, Chelsea, Michigan; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Anna Schwartz; and two sisters, Francis Luna and Ruth Morrisette
The family will receive friends from 12-1 pm, Tuesday November 27, 2018 at Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 27th, 2018 at 1:00 pm in Greenlawn Funeral Home South , with burial to follow at White Chapel, Springfield. Memorial contributions may be made in Frank's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 3645 South Ave., Springfield, MO 65807
