Rest In Peace old friend, We will have our class of 1951 reunion when we meet again.

In kindergarten (at Broadway Methodist Church) and grade school (Campbell) we always knew him as "Jerry" - his (unofficial) name given him by his Mom, presumably to distinguish him from his Dad, Frank. We were buddies - and sometimes competitors - until I moved to Indiana, and we lost track of each other for 60 years. Renewing our acquaintance by mail and phone in 2006, I was glad to learn that Frank J was still the studious, witty, and fun-loving guy I remembered. In recent years, I had the privilege of acting as his (volunteer) copy editor for some features he did for his IBM newsletter. Rest in peace, old friend!

Frank and I became friends and had weekly dinners together for over a year. I considered him a gentleman and a scholar. We started watching the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday ball games together. We both cheered for the chiefs, even though one of us was a Republican and the other a Democrat, we agreed on lots. He was full of good stories of all kinds, golf, IBM, MU, family. We had fun times. He is greatly missed by me. He made a great friend!

I knew Frank through our employment at IBM. But we became much closer in retirement. I always enjoyed our occasional dinners and golf outings and loved his vim, vigor and sense of humor. He will be missed by all.

Frank and I go back 55 years, both joining IBM in Aug. 1966 and attending our first training class together. I called Frank a Renaissance Man because of his wide range of interests including music, literature, opera, sports, science, etc. If I had a dime for every round of golf we played....! Frank will be missed by his family and his many many friends. RIP, good friend.
